never fished this lake before but got a buddy looking to fish it tomorrow. Looks like no rain in forecast but some wind may kick up. Any tips for trout fishing here? Where to launch? Fish the pass i heard?

try a top spot map...they have some pretty legit info for big lake...
fwiw, big lake is a fairly difficult place to fish as far as salt water fishing goes...your buddy needs to understand that and not get frustrated..
ETA: also, better add more to your title or this will get anchored with quickness...

My least favorite wind for BL is a west wind. I'd fish south in the channel or west cove

so you would not recommend big lake at all with a west wind?

You can fish BL in any wind. You still have plenty of options with a west wind
