I never got the "reading on the beach" thing. I'd rather read in bed where it isn't hot and I'm not being distracted by stupid kids trying not to drown.

It's a good way to disguise one self while checking out the talent.

I just finished Memoirs of a Service Afloat by Rapheal Semmes. A most informative and thought provoking book.

I think "The General's Daughter" is the only thing I have read by him, that was good though, and one of the few times I was ever surprised by an ending.
