On a scale of NFL Pro Bowl to 10, how entertaining are these games?

The Man U - Galaxy game was entertaining, and I expect their game against Roma will be too. Those guys are playing for something, and it's not just fitness.

I think both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are worth watching. Both of those teams are full of guys trying to prove themselves to a new manager.

In a non WC/Euro year they are a 7 or 8, after a summer full of soccer already more like a 4 or 5. Cooler if your team has new signings or young players who might actually factor into the first team one day.

European Reserves vs. MLS Reserves.

Horrible.

European Reserves + Some Starters vs. MLS Starters

Average viewing until MLS reserves start playing.

The first half of the MC/SKC game was really fun.

Some are good fun, some are boring as hell. The ICC matches last year were pretty awesome, especially the first half of the final.

A few of the games have close to A+ lineups not scrubs and those have been enjoyable. Catch the beginning to catch the starting IX

The SKC vs Man city match was 9/10 entertainment for me.

It's probably as entertaining to MLS fans as it is to a League 1 fan getting a chance to see their club get a shot at a big club in the Capital One Cup.

The only downside is that most of the MLS teams send the starters off after a half because they all have league games like 3-4 days later.

It's definitely cool watching the International Cup or whatever it's called.

8or9/10

Matches tend to have a lot of goals rather than being a 0-0 affair. Love watching the young guys trying to impress.

true, plus I really wish the NBA would do more exhibitions with EuroLeague teams.

This is the problem right here. MLS needs to take a two week break during this period like NASL so they can get these games in w/o having to worry about saving guys for league matches.

Well not sure how a break will work since they already took a break for the World Cup. Maybe in a non WC/GC year.

They are alright for the most part, I would rather watch MLS regular season games though.

You know what would be a bigger problem? Taking a two-week break to play some meaningless games in the middle of the season. MLS shouldn't bend over so European teams can come play them to get prepared for their season. They take some time off for the ASG, if teams want to schedule friendlies then, well that's fine.

Plus, they took a break for the WC group stage, and taking another two-week break would spread a small amount of games out over a long period of time, when the season already runs into December. MLS has had games just about every day for the past couple of days, and it will continue into this week... that is exciting. Not some friendlies full of reserve players.

I see what you're saying, but something probably needs to give. On one hand, having big clubs play here is capitalizing on folks wanting more WC in a way that FC Dallas/Vancouver is just not going to.

On the other hand, getting one of our most famed MLS teams absolutely crushed probably won't help the MLS brand, which is already perceived as weak (if still improving).

I hate most of them. Only watchable if there's been a gap without matches for a while or a new manager is coming in. Some are more enjoyable if you actually attend and it's a match based on an actual link between the clubs.

I much prefer the charity celeb matches to most friendlies.
