moving services to new address

I've had AT&T Uverse internet at my apartment for the past year, but I'm about to move to a house a few miles away that doesn't have Uverse available for whatever reason. What should I do? Do I dump AT&T? Do I let my roommate have the account and buy me out of my half of the router and move the services to his new apartment?
Do I just say f&%k it and go with Cox?
While both companies have shitty customer service, I at least found that my internet connection was extremely reliable and never once went out or even slowed down, which happens frequently with Cox. Also, AT&T offers lower prices, and I already own the router.
