Whoever did this didn't hang white sheets from the flagpole, they hung bleached white American flags and it is important to know that.

I guess we should be glad that whoever did this didn't have a couple of bombs to go along with the white flags. It is a big deal when someone can do this without being caught considering all the cameras around NYC.

People walking on the bridge. People driving on the bridge. I mean if someone wanted to damage the bridge the only way to prevent it would be to close the bridge and put guards on it 24/7.

They didn't hang anything, they did something to the flags that were up there. Most likely painted them. There is no good way to take them down, it's extremely tough to even get up there. So they just did something to them while they were flying.
