I was there last night and it was absolutely packed. This was the first townhall meeting I have ever attended. Overall everyone remained calm. It is unbelievable to see where all the millages go every year. One would think roads would be one of the main functions of the government however less than 2% of the taxes in Nola go towards the roads. More than 3% goes to the Aquarium!

Glad we didn't renew for the zoo.

The useful life of those pictures from the 70s of the lions and tigers in those old rusty little cages has finally expired. Poor Ron Forman.

All you taxpayers can get your roads once they've finished redoing all of the streets in the 9th Ward.

Fixing streets doesn't help them bring in more revenue now does it? frick the people who actually LIVE here.
I've been seeing those signs around town though.

They should have started a rumor that a national news station would be at the meeting, then Mitch might have attended.

That's about right. It's incredible how much of the taxpayer money gods to the 9th ward. I'm not sure what they pay in taxes but I do know only 35% of homes in Nola pay property taxes and something tells me that area makes up a large amount of that 65 of non tax payers! If only we had Brad Pitt in Lakeview we could get some things fixed around here and have the mayor actually show up!
