I hope I have that day off from competition. Might try to get some tickets and make the trip from Monroe.

Your implications with this post are wrong. They do have to vote but they are not outnumbered in Shreveport. The Saints win that vote every week. Also its not a Shreveport issue. That tv station services a huge area including parts of Texas and Arkansas. Its mainly those areas that account for the votes the Cowboys get (and still lose). Id say the percentage of Saints fans in Shreveport/Bossier is equal or greater than the percentage of LSU fans in New Orleans.

wrong one

But I was a Rockets fan before NO had a basketball team. If they would have had one when I was a kid I am sure I'd be a Pels fan, but when you grow up pulling for a team it's hard to make a switch like that. I even tried to make the switch from Rockets to Hornets but it felt fake.

The Rockets are the only team from Texas that I'll pull for.

lol no

The Saints win 80% of those votes, most of the time more than that. The Cowboys have never come close to winning one of those votes. Last year they stopped doing them because Saints fans dominated the vote. KMSS viewing area is Shreveport and East Texas so there are fans in Marshall & Longview who want to watch the Cowboys, however they are the ones who are outnumbered.

What happened with this one in the middle of the Saint's SuperBowl run? LINK

Most people didn't know about the voting back then and they would not allow you to vote from your phone - it was strictly from the KMSS site, not Facebook. The Saints vote always crush the vote, so much so that they stopped voting all together last year and aired whatever game they wanted. They caught all kinds of flack for doing that. But to act like Saints fans in Shreveport are outnumbered by Dallas fans is dumb.

I already have tickets. I don't care for either team but I dislike the Mavs more & I want to see Davis play. Plus I want to see how Chandler P. plays with his new team.

Saintsreport used to vote en masse to get the Saints game on in Shrevetexas. That is why those polls started to get dominated by Saints fans.

That's not the main reason why. There are way more Saints fans in Shreveport than Cowboys fans. Like it's not close. We share a market with Texas so their are fans that want to see the Cowboys. But it's really not close. I don't know why some of you want it to be the other way.

What dont you understand about Shreveport only being part of that stations market with the other parts being in Tx. That plays a part in the vote.

The thread was started to make fun of people in Shreveport for not being Pelicans fans. People really don't care much about them here, that's true. Most people already had favorite teams when they arrived.

Only half true. I also thought people in the area would genuinely be interested.

I'm late to the party on this response.

But being from Monroe, I don't think we are a long lost part of Arkansas. That's a very shallow statement to make. You must live in South Louisiana and have never come up here. We are very different from Arkansas.

I've got a friend from the Shreveport area. He is a Cowgirls fan. The reason he is is because it takes a little under 3 hours to get from Shreveport to Dallas. Geographically speaking, he was closer to the Cowboys than the Saints.

I felt like I needed to say that. Ha! I'm a fan of all Louisiana sports teams, except ULL. That's a completely different subject.

I'm extremely excited about the Pels upcoming season and can't wait to see what we do when healthy.
