This is another dude I see people going nuts over. Why? Am I missing something? It's still Arizona.

I hear he's gonna get 25 to 30 touches. That ain't happening.

People tried to build up Lamar Miller last year. I'm not saying he's a Miller style back, but I see similar results.

Not a chance

If he gets more than 20 touches a game, he will die. 5'9 and sub 200lbs. I don't see him being a full fledged workhorse just because of his size. He will be a very good RB, but I'm not buying the late 3rd/4th round hype.

He will be a good back in PPR leagues. Probably have about 18-20 touches per game with 4-5 of those being receptions. Great big play ability which makes up for his lack of touches. I'll def be targeting him as my 3rd RB in the 5th/6th round, if possible.

ETA: with that said, depending on who else is available, a 2nd/3rd round price tag may be a little rich for my blood. He could turn into a top 10 back, but I'm not that froggy.

His ADP is sitting around 30 and he just went 20 overall in CBS' standard mock draft

who had daniel thomas splitting carries and philbin is known for even splits(though I lake lamar in the 15th)

ellington has stefan taylor and Dwyer..which is nothing special....but the key is that mendy was extremely ineffective and still was 17th back in rushing attempts.

if ellington is more productive than mendy, he could be top 10 in touches considering he's more adept out of the backfield.

who would you have else at his current value?

People keep saying this, but he's the size of a ray rice, doug martin, or frank gore.

Throw in MJD too

Looking at ESPN rankings Ellington is at 17. LINK

I'd rather:
13. DeMarco
14. Giovanni
15. Matthews
16. Reggie
18. Gore
19. Spiller
21. Ray Rice
24. Toby
25. Joique
27. Ben Tate
28. Vareen
42. Woodhead

Rice- 5'8" 206
Martin- 5'9" 215
Gore- 5'9" 217
MJD- 5'7" 210

Terrible comparisons since Ellington is 5'9" 199. Closest of the people you listed is Ray Rice, but he is an inch smaller and still 7 lbs heavier.

Yeah, I don't see Ellington as a "muscle hamster" type.

With Mendenhall out the way, I think Ellington out scores Woodhead by a comfortable margin.

2nd/3rd round price tag

No way this guy goes that early. He's talented but won't have huge games week in and week out. Expect maybe 3-4 20+ point games this season and a lot of 6-8 point games pending a TD.

I much rather take my chances on Spiller, Rice or Tate on that ESPN ranking list. Even though their rankings are shite.

Nvm i thought he was listed at 210.

But 7 lbs, come on is that a terrible comparison. Saying a guy 199 will die and someone who is 7 pounds heavier was a workhorse back.
