What's a reasonable amount to expect to try and get them down on a 30k vehicle?

It really just depends, are you buying from an individual? From a used car lot, carmax, from a dealership? What is the list price compared to KBB and edmunds?

That's way too much for a 4 year old vehicle, IMO. The dura max engine had problems, iirc. If you finance it for 60 months, it will be damn near ten years old when it is paid off. I'd offer 25k, tops.

That truck was only about 40k brand new in 2010.

they had problems a long time ago but i think they have fixed them. I had a 3500 Chevy diesel that i drove for 250K miles not one problem now i got a 3500 Chevy diesel that i drove 100K miles and not a single problem. 10 years ago i would of said stay away from these trucks but not now.

I just saw a commercial where Ford is now offering 13k off of 2014 F150 crew cabs. You can get a brand new F150 XLT for 30k in lieu of a four year old truck with 82k Miles on it. If 4wd is a necessity, add 4k to the sell price. Deduct your trade, and you will walk away with a brand new F150 4WD with the Ecoboost that can pull damn near anything the Duramax can.

It's also way too many miles. Run, don't walk.
