Dylan used to pair up with other world class musicians and play double bill shows, which I wish more artist would do. Bang for buck deal. Anyway, I saw him and Paul Simon and Walnut Creek and Bob comes out before his band and tells the following jokes...

" I wrote a song about my bed, but it ain't made up yet. "

My girlfriend left me, she's a tennis player, love means nothing to her. "

Bizzare but awesome. Dylan and his band(s) used to kill it.

Other great Dylan double bills in '80's and '90's...

With Santana at Chastain.
Van Morrison MSG Theatre
Joni Mitchell at Ga Tech
Willie Nelson at Hoover Met
Merle Haggard at BJCC
With the Grateful Dead RFK

Others you've seen?

Not quite on that level, but I saw him a few years ago and Leon Russell opened for him. And Bob didn't crack any jokes.

I would've loved to have seen him and Paul on the same night. Probably my top 2 songwriters right there.

At this stage, I'd shell out good money to see Paul again. Bob, not so much.

Totally with you. Once Bob went to piano and stopped playing guitar it's been weak. After Larry Cambell left basically. Paul's shows never disappoint.

I snuck out of class junior year of high school to catch Dylan at Jazz Fest. His voice wasn't great but the band was on point and I am glad I got to see one of the biggest legends in music history.

I saw him and Merle Haggard.

He is probably my all time favorite musician. His lyrics are more powerful than anyone I've ever heard
