I was at the VooDoo game last night where we were down by 16 (64-48) with 3:08 left against our rival Orlando and we got two touchdowns and two 2 point conversions around a missed Orlando field goal to tie the game with 14 seconds left. (we lost in overtime when our QB threw a pick 6)

Now rag on it being Arena Football all you want, but it's still sports. the World Cup final was 0-0 after 90 minutes, did anyone leave? would these people have left the Saints-Vikings championship game in the Dome?

now i do have limited experience with overtime, with never having seen it at a Saints or Pelicans game, nor even Chalmette High football... (and I go to all three of them enough that it's not a small sample size)

it makes me appreciate LSU baseball more for the time when the crowd filled the Box for the 10 minute long 12th inning of the Stony Brook game 1... i'm sure some of those people didn't have tickets to game 2... and pretty sure some people drove a bunch of miles to get there

the VooDoo were also 3-13 entering last night's game (now 3-14)

I guess though... w/ the game tied... that would've been reason to stay

"hey... they can get on a winning streak" ehh... no they can't

ETA: I really wish VooDoo games were fun again like they were when Benson owned the team... now it truly feels like the minor leagues

i'm wondering what goes through the mind of these people... and whether it happens anywhere else

i can see the Heat fans leaving that game 6 bc they thought they'd lose, but this was just dumb

nah the Zephyrs are minor league... there's a difference between minor league like the Zephyrs and minor league like the VooDoo

Zephyrs players aren't New Orleans Zephyrs. They're employees of the Miami Marlins. The VooDoo players have the same goal in mind, to get to the Canadian League and NFL that pay more, but they're the New Orleans VooDoo

yep, the Zephyrs still have some legitimacy.

this is my 12,000th post, but if they were the Chicago Cubs' AAA team, I may be somewhat interested, but who gives a frick about the Miami Marlins?

all i needed to know about minor league baseball was the 1998 AAA World Series being held entirely in Las Vegas when I liked the Zephyrs at the time and it would have been cool to have part of it here, then after the 9-11 attacks they cared so little to resume the championship series that they declared the Zephyrs and somebody else co champions...

I do. And not because of the Zephyrs.
