droid operating system or s4 question

if someone leaves me a v/m message on my s4 (Verizon) is there a app or shortcut available that I can click on the missed call screen and listen to the v/m. I hope this makes sense.
currently I have to go to the v/m screen to listen to messages.
topic for another day is app to convert v/m to text or email.

Do u not get a notification?
Should be able to just click the notification from the drop down and it'll bring you to the voice-mail?

Go to app drawer and drag the vm icon to your home screen

thanks for the replies I'll look into this. In addition, my carrier Verizon informed me that software isn't available to convert v/m to a text message on a S4. wtf?
I have googled as well as google play app store and yet to find a app that accomplishes this.
