Over $3 billion annually for a nation of 8 million people.

LINK

Can't fund NASA.

Can't save Social Security.

Can't secure the border.

Always find plenty of money to send overseas, especially to Israel.

Israel needs money to fund the military action in Gaza. I don't understand what the fuss is about.

Highway trust fund failing this week. Projects put on hold all around the country.

$3 billion a year is $3 billion dollars. That's how much it is. Every year, year after year.

America has a very compelling interest to give Israel money. Not only is the country one of our few true friends in the region, but it very well may be the one thing preventing the formation of an Islamic superpower. Can't have that.

Killing terrorists > fixing potholes, islamic outreach (NASA's current job), throwing money away (social insecurity), housing illegals and changing their babies' diapers (ICE's current job)

Sounds like we are winning on this one.

Terrible argument. Everyone talks about all these "expenses" being "drops in the bucket".

100 drops in the bucket is $62 billion, of OUR money.

ETA: I'd surmise there are thousands of "drops in the bucket" budget numbers that exist in our budget.

I'd much rather give that money to Israel than Pakistan or Egypt. Egypt is #2 but we give money to a lot of countries. So this is nothing new.

We aren't killing terrorists we're funding terrorists and getting involved in the internal affairs of other nations while we're fricking broke.

Hamas has very little to do with us but they have everything to do with Israel and Israel happens to be our ally so there it is.

How much did we give Mexico, Guatemala , Honduras, and Venezuela this week?

Is Ron Paul writing his newsletter these days or does he still outsource for profit?

When did that happen?

Are you suggesting we pay for roads out of the general fund? I always thought it made sense to pay for them from gas taxes only.

Still wondering what happened to the $800 billion stimulus (or whatever it was) in 2009 that was supposed to go to "shovel ready projects" to rebuild roads and bridges and other infrastructure needs.

Oh, and since we have not had a Federal Budget since then, that money continues to be rolled over and spent every year to the tune of over $4 TRILLION, all originally earmarked for infrastructure repair and "shovel ready projects," most notably, roads and bridges.

Sounds to me like one of the greatest scams of all time. Now, we are hearing that we need MORE money for infrastructre and nothing has been spent on it during Obama's entire presidency. Yet, there is no accountability at all.

Nice. $621 million is nothing.

Does anyone ever give aid money to the US? Seems like we're always giving, never receiving.

ETA: Loans don't count.
