I use a modded hottop with BT and ET probes...I use Artisan to log my profiles. Most of my green coffee beans come from Sweet Maria's, Happy Mug Coffee, and Green Coffee Buying Club. Pics of my roast setup below. Any other roasters that post here?

I had the conversation with my wife wondering if there were home roasting kits.

Might look into this in the future.

Had a local place in BR, but of course they didn't get the support they should have.

Highland Coffee roasts their own beans. I get by coffee from them.

Good to know. The place off Tiger Bend left a hole in my life when they closed the doors. They were good people too.

Hit me up..i can get you started easily...Also, I have a bunch of extra greens I can give you...I currently use a Poppery II (popcorn popper)as well to roast quick small batches...Works great but not nearly the control as my hottop...Nothing like coffee that's fresh roasted.

Had coffee from them a while back...They roast way too dark for my liking...Once you roast past a certain point you can't taste the origin flavors and only the roast flavor...I love tasting a natural ethiopian and/or Kenya or whatever and be able to easily distinguish what makes those coffees what they are...But, I haven't been there in a while and maybe it's different

I use the FreshRoast SR500 now. I graduate from a popcorn popper several months back.

Old thread I had on it when I first started -->

So wait, all I need is a popcorn popper?

Where do I get quality green beans?

I order mine from SweetMarias online. That seems to be the best source. They also have lots of info on the process. I use mine almost exclusively in espresso so the smaller quantities don't cause me any problems. If you go through lbs and lbs on a regular basis, the popcorn popper would probably not get you too far.

Hard to beat sweet Maria's.. I found my poppery ii on eBay and removed the thermostat... My popper works great for small batches that I'm normally doing for my wife's decaf.. I do like the bright cups that the air popper produces. My normal roasts are with my hottop though.. Great machine.. I figured there had to be a few home roasters on this board!!
