quote:

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Police say a Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding him sexually abusing his son.

Authorities say the father called 911 early Friday after he walked in on the alleged abuse. When officers arrived they found Raymond Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

quote:

Asked if any weapons were involved, the father said "my foot and my fist."

Frolander is being held without bail. It was not known whether he's hired a lawyer.

The arrest affidavit says Frolander admitted the abuse.

The father was not charged in Frolander’s beating, police spokesman Jimmie Flynt said.

Jesus.

That guy looks like he went 3 rounds with Mike Tyson, circa 1991.

Cops probably told the abuser: lucky he didn't kill you, we wouldn't have charged him either way...

I can understand the outrage... assaulting a child under 12 is unforgiveable. if i read the article correctly.

but there is a justice system for this type of thing.. Mob mentality is not a characteristic of a free society.

Dad should be charged. Granted if he was acquitted by a jury, cool. Or charges dropped by D.A. for a crime of passion type legally allowable affirmative defense, cool. or if grand jury refused to press charges, cool.

Also, I assume 18 y.o. child abuser is still charged and should be.

Edit to clarify: should have said investigated with the possibility of charges rather than charged. the DA should decide this and the police should treat the investigation as if he would be getting charged with battery associated with excessive force in self defense. Not saying he should be arrested either as he is prbly not a flight risk.

That's an old fashioned arse-whooping right there. The father must be from the country.

Why? A father is justified in defending his minor child from assault.

Except they would have.

Still wouldn't surprise me if charges are brought against the father.

This looks like it went a beyond "self-defense".

Not that I blame the father, but you can't continue to beat someone that no longer poses a threat, as far as the law is concerned.
