I have an odd printer issue

I have a Brother network printer than mainly just two computers use, 1 Windows and 1 Linux. I can print stuff from the Windows machine all day, single copies, multiple copies, everything is fine. Same from the Linux machine. The problem arises when the last thing printed from the Windows machine was multiple copies, and then I try to print from the Linux machine immediately after. No matter how many copies I try to print, I always get however many copies the Windows machine printed last.
In other words, if I print 1 copy of anything from Windows, the Linux machine is able to print 1 copy, or 5 copies, or whatever. However, if I print 3 copies from the Windows machine, the Linux machine is only able to print 3 copies of stuff, regardless of how many I tell it to print. I can only resolve it by going back to the Windows machine and printing 1 copy of something, and then the Linux machine can print the right amount. It doesn't matter what's printed, or what program it is printed from on either machine, the problem occurs.
I called Brother and they thought I was crazy, I guess. No help at all. It has to be a problem with the Windows driver, right? Like, it's got to be hitting some sort of setting in the printer that the Linux driver can't touch, and not changing it back when it's finished, eh?

Ah the joys of Linux
While yes, it does have issues, I'm pretty sure Linux is doing it right, and Windows wrong, in this case. Linux can print however many copies it wants without hindering Windows' ability to do the same.

Which one is not putting the toilet seat down when it's finished?

Wait, are you saying Linux is the woman in this relationship?

That is the question. This is going to be driver related. Try changing/updating drivers.

Try changing/updating drivers.
Just posted here to see if anyone has ever seen or heard of anything like this. Because Brother hasn't.
