Now you can buy digital with digital – starting today, we’re accepting bitcoin on Dell.com.
We’re piloting bitcoin, the world’s most widely used digital currency, as a purchase option on Dell.com for consumer and small business shoppers in the U.S. We’re excited to bring you the choice and flexibility this payment option offers and have partnered with Coinbase, a trusted and secure third party payment processor, to make this possible.
I’m excited to share in the coming days we’ll be offering a special Alienware promotion wherein customers can save 10 percent off a new Alienware system purchase (up to $150 limit) when checking out with bitcoin. Stay tuned to Dell.com/bitcoin for more information on this exciting offer.

In other words, another company will not be holding bitcoin. frick I would do the same thing if I could increase my revenue by catering to fanboys and not having to ever accept or keep one single bitcoin.

I thought about you and Wiki the other day when I saw this. Although its a positive development for bitcoin in terms of general acceptance I'm pretty sure Wiki would not have approved as this is another step in the regulatory direction. Nothing groundbreaking or game-changing in the regulation at all.

I made a thread on it, it's pretty horrible.

You seemed like it was not that big of a deal in the thread you started.

I'm assuming he's inferring to the step-by-step march under the regulatory umbrella that the bitcoin enthusiasts despise. The regulation itself isn't really that big of deal, it just makes bitcoin regulated more like a... you know... normal transaction mechanism.
I still stick by my original preduction with bitcoin. Either A) it becomes regulated and becomes a more broadly accepted medium of exchange or B) it doesn't and it stays a very niche phenomenon that eventually fades off. I don't think that is going out far on a limb at all.

I already had said I thought it would be gone before this summer. Obviously I was wrong.
