The scary thing is that the team hasn't played close to their best yet.

Not even close. I think City and Chelsea will separate themselves from the rest of the league.

I'm still not 100% on Chelsea. They could be great but they still have some question marks. They're still a grinding team. Formidable for sure, but IDK if they can run away with it.

By no means am I saying City is unstoppable, but we look to be picking up where we left off last year. The biggest problem last year was depth and I think they addressed it adequately over the summer.

We got killed when Aguero went down last season. Dzeko was good but not great and he had no partner since Jovetic was hurt most of the time and Negredo hit a serious funk. Fast forward a few months and Aguero is back in form, Dzeko has looked solid and Jovetic looks like what I hoped he would be.

Gonna be one hell of a season.

ETA: Not worried about the midfield. Back line looks a hair shaky at times but once they play a little more together I think they'll be fine. Zaba and Kompany are solid no matter what.

Kompany and Zaba both looked great today. Zaba was unlucky on the own goal.

And Dimichelis seems to be the anti-Sampson this year.

i wasn't able to watch today, how did fernando look? he's one who i think is going to be instrumental in the title defense, but the work he puts in won't show up in the score line.

Fernando didn't trip over the ball today. I honestly didn't pay much attention to him, but I love that role for players. Etienne Capoue does that for Spurs, and he is one of my favorite players.

Agreed. I'd venture to say City played pretty poorly yesterday.
......and still won by two goals.

City are going to skull drag this league.

It would be nice if he gets a cap against Andora. . . maybe next to Kompany.

If he plays against Bosnia - getting worked by Dzeko and losing his confidence would be a very City thing to happen.

Word is Aguero is only out for 4-6 weeks. Really a best case scenario considering what he looked like at the time.

Luckily City's slew of injured players are back healthy. Silva is supposed to play vs. Roma for the first time in several weeks. Dzeko, Jovetic, and Kolorav are all supposed to be healthy again too. Having Silva back though is huge.

We just can't rush him back too quickly like last year.

With his injury troubles, I would prefer more help at striker in the transfer window. Unless Dzeko starts beasting like last year.

They only have like 10m to work with. I'd rather them not buy a player who doesn't belong in the squad. They've wasted too much money like that in the past. Hopefully Iheanacho can get his work permit, and Pozo showed some great movement this weekend.

I think this also forces them to run the 1324, which is their most balanced line up. Plus now that Silva and Fernando are healthy again they have plenty of midfield depth.

AFCON always seems to come at the worst time. Good news is that Milner and Nasri have been picking up the slack.
