Not in that episode
The last scene was bringing in "the cleaner"

I'm sure Rebecca De Mornay had something to do with the downfall of that business.

There were a lot of plots that died at the end of each episode without and real closure. I loved that it never really mattered.

There were a lot of plots lasting entire episodes that would've been solved in 1 second if they had cellphones.

She put desiccation packets in with the muffins which dried them out and drove the store out of business.

I think I'm going to build a roller coaster instead.

I've been in awe of how well the series has held up despite the absence of technology that is so commonplace.
email, cell phones, etc.
and yet it still doesn't stand out. They don't even use telephones that often. Jerry's apartment or the coffee shop is just the meet up where they communicate the updates to each other

True. There was a slight anti-tech tinge to show. Remember Elaine's douchey tech boyfriend who made fun of Jerry for not having a fax machine?
Or remember Jerry saying, "Man, I gotta get on that internet."

The back end of the series was at a transitional time (many of the classics are from the final 3 seasons)
98, yeah everyone had email but it wasn't essential. Cell phones were a luxury. And so forth
Literally 2-3 years later we couldn't function without them

Hahahah, great episode. Kramer had his Asian guest in the drawers.
ELAINE: Mmm. Brett, uhm, Jerry doesn't have a fax machine.
BRETT: (quiet) Oops.
(Brett looks round at Jerry, seeming embarrassed.)
BRETT: Well, I'm sure things'll pick up for you soon. Elaine, maybe we should get going.

The show was about conversation, over-analysis and observation regarding the seemingly insignificant minutiae of daily life.
I like the think that they knew how important it was for that time, that the cellphone age would soon change our habits and make us less social and less likely to sit around talking (IRL) about nothing.
It's ridiculous to think they had that kind of foresight, but I like to think it.

Elaine ended up marrying Agent Coulson of SHIELD and had a kid. Her share of the sale price of the muffin business was folded into their family finances. After their divorce she received half of her muffin money back, but continued to receive a portion of Coulson's SHIELD salary. Eventually she had to put a freeze on all of her finances as she launched her campaign for the Vice Presidency.

And his frustration with not being able to slam down the phone receiver onto the rotary base when he was pissed off. Angrily touching the "end" button on the tiny modern phones just didn't do it for him.

I see I am not the only one that watches reruns on TBS. One of the only shows I can watch over and over again.

I DVR them, see the title and then delete them...I only have them for when I'm in the mood
