Up late last night cracked out on NBA trade Machine trying to get rid of EG. (This happens more than is probably healthy for any individual to partake in). Here is what I got:

EG to Memphis --> Pels get C. Lee and Prince

LINK

EG goes to Brooklyn --> Pels get KG and M. Teague

LINK

Thoughts? Better ideas? Feel free to include any trades you like.

If he gets traded, it would be to someone like Brooklyn, but that trade definitely doesn't make us better.

I don't care for Eric Gordon, and neither does any other NBA team apparently

What if he comes in this year and lights it up and stays healthy? Does everyone suddenly like him? WHAT IF?

After a number of bouts with high blood pressure over Sandy's adverse effects on the team's cap space and morale, I've now accepted that Mr. Exercycle will be here next season.

We can only hope our "Cornerstone" plays relatively well and his mental capacity is as weak as his knees and he opts out.

But why wouldn't we want a ~22/5/5 player starting at SG? A lot of teams would give him the contract he has for that. It's a double edged sword, I guess. On paper, with his age and talent, he's exactly what you want. If he plays up to his potential and stays healthy, he starts at the 2, Reke at 3 for at least the remainder of his contract.

I have given that dude so many chances. He peaked when he made that game winning shot at the Suns to open up the 2011 season. Down hill since. Never showing up at big moments, the epic saga of summer 2012 and "my heart is in Phoenix", the Knee, the "undisclosed illness" to explain missing the 2012 season opener vs the Spurs, and then last year failing to compete for his own job against Tyreke.

All I'm saying is just wait. He's only 25. He says he's healthy and has put on some muscle. I'm willing to give him one more chance and I hope he does well. Everyone should hope for the same.

I think his injury issues are enough to move on. But he does look like he's in the best shape he's ever been in as a Hornet/Pelican, so if you believe his commitment to fitness makes him less injury prone, you still have the $35 million back court issue. The only way keeping Gordon long term works out is if Tyreke + Role Player works at SF.

Well said.

Signing EG has been a train wreck from the start. I still say it was a major miscalculation on Demps part; the "My heart is in Phoenix" crap sealed the deal. I know some say we had no choice but that just isn't the case. The Suns were willing to to do a S & T and Demps stood firm. Demps pissed away $54M and handcuffed this team.

I agree, we should have never signed him. But we did and nobody wants him. So in the mean time, let's hope he stays healthy and plays well.
