Someone compare their offers out of highschool and production out of HS and tell me who you'd be more comfortable with at 3rd string QB.

P.s. If Jennings and Harris both go down we better run the spread option with Magee.

Ill take the guy who has been playing football the whole time. But either way we are screwed if it comes to that.

Magee couldn't see over the line of scrimmage on a step stool.

I can only attest to Bergeron since I've actually seen him play. He played calm and collected, stayed in the pocket, and made accurate passes. Arm strength is nowhere near Mett's level.

LSU is fine with him as the 3rd string IMO.

this. and foster coming out of high school had offers at southeastern , tulane and mcneese. bergeron had offers from mcneese and memphis. so basically the same.

Bergeron reminds me a lot of Chase Daniel. He has a similar, short arm motion with good accuracy. He's really a good guy to have at 3rd string, especially given the circumstances. He's a smart, tough football player.

This is dumb and the thread is dumb. Berg has been to JUCO and LIT IT UP crushing all of Mett's stats (except TDs I think)in the same conference. I don't know about arm strength, but I would venture to say he is every bit as seasoned as Jennings is in reading defenses/coverages and schemes. I worry about Jennings because he is unknown. The big plays he made to save the Arky game were great, but he was told where to throw it on the long one before they broke huddle..Landry called it. He did however still have to make the throw.
I wouldn't think there would be a noticeable drop-off at qb production from going from wither of the 2 to Berg.

But this Jared Foster comparison is really moronic! He wasn't that good in HS and absolutely has a monumental learning curve to adjust to any type of SEC level play. HE WILL NEVER SEE THE FIELD AT LSU AS A QB! It's just a waste of his time and will hurt his baseball advancement, IMO

You haven't heard?

The Rant hype machine is already pumping up Bergeron. He's better Than Mett because his juco numbers were better (don't look up the stats just trust then that they were better) and he's already better than Jennings, when our QB struggles this board will be cranking out the "Put in Bergeron!" Threads like it's Christmas.

Don't be an a-hole your whole life....Foster's own dad would say Bergeron is a better qb for LSU to turn to. No one says he the starter. Why were Mett's stats at that JUCO a good sign for you, but now it's not an ok comparison to anyone else?
Learn this about football...there is nothing, and I mean nothing, that is more valuable to a qbs development than being on the field reading coverages and making the right(and wrong) throws for an entire year in college, ANY college, including JUCO. Now I'm not talking about arm strength and athleticism, but why on Earth would you put either of our scholly qbs ahead of any qb with at least a year of starts in college, in terms of running an offense and reading defenses.

Who cares? If that happens we will be losing games anyway.....but your an idiot if you don't think the ?put in Harris" threads will be first.

TO be clear, Foster isn't even in this conversation and shouldn't really be taken away from baseball for this.

He crushed Mets stats ok!

ZM: 32 TDs
Berg: 22 TDs

ZM: 4 INTs
Berg: 9 INTs

ZM: 9 ypa
Berg: 7.5 ypa

ZM: TD per 9.3 passes
Berg: TD per 18.1 passes

So nearly a 2 times as many passes to throw a TD.

Here is what Miles had to say about this today. Doesn't sound as though Brandon Bergeron is in the conversation:

quote:

Speaking at the Louisiana High School Coaches Association clinic, Miles was asked about the backup quarterback situation with the pending departure of Rob Bolden. "I think we have a quality backup there in [Jake] Clise, and there may be a Jared Foster showing up that might take some snaps," Miles said. When asked if it would be easy for him to catch on, Miles said, "He's been pretty athletic. We would expect that he would be able to give us some abilities."

Tigers are in a shite load of trouble if anyone besides Jennings or Harris is taking snaps this year.
