I don't really have anything against the movie, but I want to focus on the show. It doesn't get more mindless than this, but I love it

My favorite episode:

Violent is the Word for Curly

You can get the entire collection on Amazon for $45 - less than half price. Highly recommended.

A Plumbing We Will Go is probably my favorite.

have an upvote sir, we may disagree on the ring discussion - but we both agree that the Stooges are awesome.

You are the exception to my argument.

Never cared for the stooges. Maybe it's because I have two brothers and it was way too close to reality.

The staying power the Stooges have had is amazing.
It's a shame they got screwed by the studio head for the best period of their career.

The story goes that the studio chief would convince them that short comedies were on a decline whenever their contract came up (about every 2 years) and he wasn't sure he wanted to renew their contract. They were so worried they would be out of work that they would settle for less money. However, the Stooges were the number 1 filler at theaters. They were so popular that the studio was often able to get more money for the Stooges short than the movie.

I was in Best Buy late last year, they had it for like $35. I bought one for me and then ordered one online for my dad in Metry for his Christmas present.

We used to sit there and watch that stuff every Saturday together

They were pretty badly treated all around, if the stories are true. Moe said after their time filming shorts was over, he came by the studio to say goodbye to some of the crew, and they wouldn't even let him in.

They finally were able to make some money when television came along and they had a career revival.

They really were great, not only the stooges, but also the other regulars. They were consistently funny for years, even after the loss of Curly. It wasn't until the studio began to get cheap, forcing remakes and endless recycling of footage that quality began to suffer.
