BATON ROUGE — The much-criticized expose by Sports Illustrated last fall on NCAA violations within the Oklahoma State football program, which included LSU coach Les Miles’ time there from 2001-04, is apparently accurate enough for one governing body to take a closer look.
The NCAA is investigating Oklahoma State for possible rules violations in its football program, an Oklahoma State spokesman has said, according to an ESPN story published on Monday.
Miles, who was 28-21 with the Cowboys with three bowl appearances after inheriting a program that had losing seasons in 11 of 12 previous seasons, was portrayed by SI as helping start a stampede of sex, drugs and cash at the Stillwater, Oklahoma, campus

Les has lost control of the NCAA

Will the media and ncaa campaign against Les/LSU ever stop?

A Glenn Guillbeau article does not a "media and ncaa campaign against LSU" make

Glenn needs to have his media credentials revoked. Seriously.
And I get that the NCAA is following up, but that report was possibly the biggest joke I've ever seen in sports. I question how SI not only promoted it, but let it ever get past an editor. It makes you wonder if anyone there actually read the articles before they made it to print.

I hope they hammer Okie State for whatever Miles is accused of doing there. I will never forgive them for losing three years ago and forcing a NC game with Bama. We would have demolished them.

I hate I missed out on that party. Sounds like it was the old "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll" pitch those recruits suffered through. It is probably just some type of misunderstanding.

On the ESPNU coverage of SEC media days, Brett McMurphy talked about how he debunked just about every verifiable piece of information in the article. Anything that could be tracked down, he did, and it came out that he had different info than Thayer Evans.
He didn't call Evans out by name, but did say that SI didn't do simple fact checking.

Good job GG, you fricking douchebag

Yeah its a regurgitated story that has the same holes as before. Only being brought back up because GG really is a terrible writer that has been retained way too long. The guy tries to be Finedumb like and is really more of an untalented hack that just isn't good enough to survive any other way. Sad, and even more pathetic is someone retains and actually pays him

So Thayer Evans is still alive?
Posted on 7/15/14 at 8:23 am to blackjackjackson
im sure Glenn was pleasuring himself as he wrote that article

Thank you for putting GG in the title so I knew not to click the link.

I know Glenn Guilbeau sucks as a journalist. But he didn't just bring this up out of nowhere. The NCAA released the news yesterday that they're investigating. He actually did write a timely piece, however inaccurate the original article may be.
