Do you like having 4 knockout rounds or would you like having a 2nd group stage?

A while ago the WC consisted of a group stage followed by another group stage, with the winners of the 2nd group state progressing to the semi-finals. Some older people I know have said they prefer this format, and don't know why FIFA switched.
I personally like knockout stages because of the extra drama involved with not letting the games end in draws, but on the other hand group games tend to be more exciting because teams have to try and score to get the 3 points instead of parking the bus to PKs like we saw in this WC a couple of times.

It should never ever ever change from the current format.
Way too many games with a 2nd group stage. Club teams would be pissed at burnout and risking injury.

I think the second way would be a more accurate predictor (and actually more fun overall) but that's two more games to try to fit in.
ETA: I wouldn't like going from 16 to 4. I'd rather go 16 to 8. And just don't think that'd work time-wise.

That made more sense in a 24 team tournament.
