A coach isn't going to collar a true Fr with those kinds of expectations this early but ESPN doesn't care and they aren't totally stupid either.
I don't see how he can be kept off the field. He was clearly the better QB in a lot of ways in the spring game.

Should I bring up the article or how Manziel was beat out in the spring his RSFR and had about as bad a Spring Game as Jennings had? Yall can give up on this kid all you want, but he hears and sees this stuff all the time and he'll fight like hell to start and stay on top.

Jennings is your guy until proven otherwise. I trust the coaching staff to start the best option to win games and right now it's Jennings.
