Leftist Blogger: Country Day School in Alex taking advantage of the poor

But I am deeply disturbed by the ways in which its institutional leadership has used video bingo in the inner-city to subsidize operations, and I am keenly aware of the fact that this scheme is almost completely unknown to the taxpayers of Alexandria and the overwhelming majority of Country Day parents. If we are going to grant gambling monopolies to anyone, the proceeds should benefit those who need it the most. Our public schools- particularly our inner-city schools- desperately, urgently need money and resources, and it defies common sense, common decency, and public policy that the revenue generated by inner-city video bingo would go, instead, almost exclusively to a private school outside of the city limits. And we’re not talking about pocket change.

I know this guy is just some blogger, but he apparently used to work for the Mayor's office in Alexandria as well. This is the type of crap that many of the leftist in Louisiana and throughout the country unfairly, in my opinion, try to pin on any institution with whom they have issues with.
In this instance, this Lamar character apparently despises private education, so he tries to attack this local school's efforts to raise money as taking advantage of poor, inner-city black residents.
What a sad way to go through life.

Soft bigotry of low expectations.
This guy apparently believes that because these people are poor, inner city blacks, they're incapable of making the choice of whether to play bingo or not. It's racism couched in caring language.

Who owns the video poker machines?

That's kinda the point of video poker.

Clearly - any one who chooses to play video bingo - is incapable of making that choice.

With such a low opinion of people I am shocked that you are able drag yourself out of bed.

I love science.
And statistics.
Anyone who plays a game against the house where there is basically no skill involved and the odds are rigged in favor of the house - is an idiot. Slot machines. Video poker. things of that nature. Real life poker is different as you are playing other players and skill is required. Black jack is against the house but a skilled player can gain an advantage. Video poker/bingo/slots - stupid. Just stupid.
The wealthy wouldn't want to put black jack tables in poor neighborhoods because a sufficiently skilled player might be able to climb there way out of poverty with it. Video poker/bingo whatever means in the end, the house eventually wins.

Video bingo, not video poker. They're not the same.
