Would Jalen Collins fit better as a strong safety?

I'm Just asking opinion here, just seems like he is a step slow for the big time receivers in this Lg. I just believe by looking at him that he has the physical look of a safety, big guy that is tough but lacks a bit in coverage, not a huge drop off in skill though. Just want to hear some thoughts on Collins and where he could actually fit in this defense.

No. He's a solid corner, but not a perfect fit for LSU's scheme. As a redshirt junior he brings experience to our defensive backfield, especially the younger corners. The safety positions are already cluttered enough, so if he gets moved back there he probably wouldn't see the field.

Expect to see him in the nickel, dime, and mustang packages this year.

Hell yea, good explanation. Especially with Mills as as safety that really jammed it up. I agree he could be a decent nickle/dimer. :cheers
I have really liked the guy from day 1 though, it's just been hard for him to have a true presence in this defense. I wish nothing but the best and would love to see him shine a bit this year!

Yeah, I don't think he would either. He's struggled a bit in coverage, but I think he's better at corner than at SS. I doubt he could take on blocks and get to the ball-carrier as a SS. Just my opinion.

He has the ability. Just needs more chances to shine. He was quiet this year because of T.White and Mills getting the most looks at CB and then Rashard got rolling towards the end.

Adams will play before Paris does. I don't know if he is gonna make it at corner. He's a good football player but his hips aren't what they need to be. He may get moved back to safety. We'll see

Paris looked solid at corner during the spring game and definitely has a solid frame to provide run support. He was able to shut down Leslie and made a nice play against Dural early on. He has too much personality and fire to be playing at safety IMO.

I only watched Paris for a few plays, but I was struck by how physical he was. He reminded me of the Ohio State corner that the Saints eventually shifted to safety.
