I really do wish we could have a rational discussion on the issue(s).
I certainly "know" very little beyond the surface. My bias, based upon a lifetime of media / politician driven bites of info, is that Israel is the more innocent and react to the threats around them.
I am open to learning another point of view. But, these discussions too quickly devolve into "frick you terrorist!"..."No, frick you Zionist!" posts.
It is a shame because I LOVE hearing a point of view that challenges my stasis.

I had very similar views - even trained with the Israeli Air Force in the 80s and 90s thought they were pretty much totally innocent.
I just spent a few weeks there talking to people and watching interactions and the problem is very much 50:50.
The real tricky part is there are 3 parties involved. Jews (Israelis), Palestinian Muslims, and Palestinian Christians.
The Palestinian Muslims want all Jews dead, the Israelis want to be left alone and not have rockets launched at them, the Christians are caught in the middle - Palestinian in name but if able would get along with Jews.
In the mean time the hard core Jews treat everyone like assholes and scum. Until all parties involved admit their crap stinks it will get no where.
