Will be the most puke inducing show since The West Wing or The Newsroom.

This is the only correct answer.

And she is a horrible, horrible monotone actress, second in acting monotone voices only to the incredibly bad Keano Reeves.

CBS Trailer - Madam Secretary

Took a look at it. My initial thought was "Meh" (not a huge fan of television). Only thing that stood out is the (potential) similarity to a recent Secretary of State. Thought it was quite fortuitously timed.

Nah, that would have been "Madam President".

Nope, watch the trailer. She portrays a Secretary of State in an exceptionally good light (attractive, tough, funny, decisive, loving wife and mother). This is the kind of optics/comparison/narrative that the uninformed in our nation just eat up.

"Look at Téa Leoni, Hillary Clinton is just like her."

Honestly, when have we had a television show exclusively about the Secretary of State?

Fortuitously. Timed.

Or they could say, now that's the way a SoS should be, too bad Hillary wasn't.
I can't ascribe any great meaning to it other than networks trying to run shows that people will watch. Though they seldom get that right.
But if it helps HRC, I'm cool with it.

In my opinion, you are one of the genuinely likeable posters on this board. Not strident, you establish a position and honestly work your way through it. But the average citizen of this country is very shallow in their thinking and very easily swayed. I see this show as a very thinly veiled attempt (through pop culture) to portray HRC in a very positive light. The parallels will be striking (just like West Wing was). And the average American (of a liberal or independent bent) will be impressed that this is (somewhat) of a biopic of her tenure as Secretary of State.

Sorry - but this is not as innocent as you would like to believe. There is an agenda.

M Secretary will consider a run for pres in the second or third season if the show lasts that long.
