Barring injury, SLU should make a legit run at the FCS championship.

Unlike FBS, FCS football is an equivalency sport meaning scholarships may be split, and spread out. FCS schools are allowed 63 equivalencies (full rides) to be spread among a maximum 85 players.
FBS schools are allowed a maximum 85 scholarships period, and cannot be spread out. Technically, partial scholarships are allowed, but it still counts as a full as far as the limits are concerned, so there's no advantage for an FBS other than cost savings.
