I'd prefer people talking about us as much as possible. I like stories about us.

2007 and 2011 we were pre season top 4. 2006 we were rated pretty highly I believe also. A rebuilding year with 2-3 losses is expected by most tiger fans and the media alike. Which would be a top 15 finish and is where we are ranked

The only thing that has ever gotten us hype is winning. We beat some damned good teams last year but we lost to the wretched gumps and an Ole Miss team that sucked and thus we get no hype love.

Then common sense tells any decent analyst that reloading every single skill position on offense puts any program outside the top ten.

The two things that I do like is that LSU has a damned good OC and the Chief has another lock down secondary to play with.

There's a good reason for that.

One minute people pull for the SEC in every game (morons) so the media will have some meaningless bias to help us jump some Midwest team in the BCS. Then they love it because the media ISNT even mentioning us because it provides some irrational motivation for us to win more games. The last time the media didn't give us the attention we deserved was in 2003 and nobody saw that coming until late October. We aren't gettin mentioned for a reason this year and as bad as I hate to say that, it's true. You can't lose every weapon you have on offense and replace them all with inexperience and expect to come out better than the year before. Your only hope is that the rest of the SEC experiences the same growing pains we do to help us out which is very possible with all of the new QBs. Our defense isn't strong enough yet to carry a young offense. Maybe that shakes out by November. Maybe it's 2015.

I hope I am wrong and our Fuddish coach can improve. After all, we have Cam fricking Cameron and I hear he knows magic.

Exactly. I assume it's the same for just about every college football program, but LSU fans love to dig for anything they can somehow perceive as "disrespect" for LSU. There probably haven't been this many questions going into a season since 2008, and all are justifiable.

I don't think this young team is ready for preseason accolades. They need to work their way into it and find an identity. I am glad they are not picked to win it right now. They are picked around a respectable #15 and they can easily build on that. They just have to take it one game at a time.

I can tell however that the media is treating LSU and CLM like a big sleeping dog. They are not concerned right now but they are keeping one eye open on them at all times. If it was not for the uncertainty of the QB play in the media minds LSU would be top ten preseason...

No, because that means there are teams that are expected to be better than us. 2015 LSU will have a lot of hype.

I mean I get the whole chip on the shoulder thing with us not being publicized as much as others, but it didn't work out that great for us last year.

I have no preference of pre-season time filler. We'll see who they talking about Labor Day Weekend. Could be LSUs Fr Sensation Duo of BH/LF.
