Thoughts on a single player RPG that doesn't end

Instead of doing ME2 and ME3 etc., what would you think about a RPG that instead version 2 and so on they just kept expanding the current game with huge expansions, kind of like MMO's.

Wouldn't that just be an MMO?

I would have loved it if they kept making borderlands 2 dlc

Nailed it.

The amount of DLC they made is already ridiculous. That's a company that has done DLC right.

Was basically what I was thinking when I read your title.
One of the problems I see:
MMOs have the multiplayer aspect to keep users interested during lulls between new content. Single player games will lack this and so a lot of people will lose interest with each new expansion. The number of people that played Skyrim is probably higher than the number of people that played each of the DLCs.
Borderlands is another game with story extending (though mostly minor side quests) DLC and I lost interest in the game after a while and didn't pick up some of the later DLC.

You can't expect a company to do this continually on the regular.
That's why something like SKyrim or Fallout 3 works. Let fans make modules and content that never ends.

That's why I don't blame them for making a brand new game. It will sell and I will buy it.

And we will play it and have a good time

Y'all getting it on 360?

I have a feeling Destiny is going to kill off the next Borderlands.

I don't know about kill off but I think a competitive October will hurts it's numbers.

Considering Destiny won't be on PC, Borderlands will be fine.

I think it will do ok, just not great considering it's releasing around Destiny and it doesn't have a next gen version.
And yes Borderlands on PC is the way to play.

I agree that Destiny cuts in to Borderlands' market, but it's loot system and the writing will help keep it's core fanbase. I hate that Destiny isn't coming to PC. Was genuinely excited about it.

While there are similarities, the games are different too. Destiny doesn't look like it's going to have the humor and personality that Borderlands does. I think October hurts Borderlands more than Destiny just because of how packed it is. I will probably buy it later and I'm a Borderlands fanboy.

Is there a loot system with Destiny?
Posted on 7/10/14 at 12:43 pm to sicboy
They say there is. I preordered just to try the beta and see what i think next week.
