Might be good landing spot for him. Maybe with him and Smart coming in, it might goodbye for Rondo and hello KLove

ETA: Did him and Brandon Bass ever play together at LSU?

Brandon Bass played 3 or 4 years before Thornton at LSU.

they would have/could have had thornton qualified and come to LSU as a frosh and bass returned for his jr year

would have been amazing to have those two guys on that final four squad

That would have been awesome. Those 2 with Taz, Mitchell, temple, baby, and bass.

I seem to remember rumors about him coming back to LSU after he left telling guys to stay in college and not leave early. Never confirmed, but I could believe it.

has always amazed me at his lack of PT in the NBA. The last season he got significant minutes per game (2011-12 for Sacramento), he averaged almost 19 ppg and shot 43.8% from the field (good for a jump shooter). He also shot 86.5% from the FT line that season, among the best in the NBA, as well as 1.5 steals pg. He averaged about 35 min pg in that season and the very next season his minutes went down to 24 a game, with his shooting percentages being basically equal. The guy has shown that when he's hot, he can go for 40 points on any given night. Playing on a team as bad as Sacramento, it's pretty shocking they seemed to give up on him. It's hard for a jump shooter to get into rhythm consistently if he isn't getting regular playing time.

Oh well, wish the best for him, and he will still go down in LSU history as one of the most exciting players we've ever had.

I don't know his defensive stats, but I think that's the knock on him.
