The 20 year anniversary of Doom was in December, that made me feel old.

30th anniversary of Zelda coming in 2016
The original Mario's 30th (not counting Donkey Kong in '81), was last year.
25th anniversary of Metal Gear was in 2012.

Tetris was released on June 6, 1984

Tetris was a big legal mess getting the rights on different platforms coming from Russia. It's an interesting story.

I recently read about it in a book called "Game Over". It's about Nintendo but Tetris has a large section in there because of it's connection with Gameboy.
