Cochran gets lost on way to senate lunch

a) Was Thad lost or just stopping by to say thanks to his friends for helping him in the run off?
b) was he truly confused and just by some instinct drawn to like minds. (birds of the feather)?

From what I've heard the tunnels underneath the Senate are a bitch to navigate. No signage and pretty massive.
