Austria and Scandinavia suggestions

Roll Amsterdam.

I only spent two days in Vienna, so we pretty much hit up the big tourist spots. We toured Schönbrunn Palace, and then walked around the Innere Stadt and then took a stroll over to the Naschmarkt and the Secession building. We had the typical wiener schnitzel at one of the places Lonely Planet recommendeds, which I'm assuming was equivalent to Mother's in Nola as far as tourists are concerned.

Vienna's käsekrainer is the best drunken street food, as far as I'm concerned. It's basically the Lucky Dog of Vienna, only it's stuffed with cheese and not topped with sweat from a homeless person. After a long night of drinking schnapps and grüner veltliner (local variety of wine), it hits the spot.

Public transportation was great. Safety-wise we never felt uncomfortable, despite some locals telling us we were staying in a rough part of town.

If for some reason you crave American beer, there is a small craft brewpub on the edge of the Innere Stadt called 1516 that I wondered into one night. They have Victory Hope Devil on tap, along with a mediocre selection of their take on American craft beer styles. They also have a very attractive staff, but I'm assuming your wife might not care about that.

What are you guys doing in Vienna and Prague? So far, my wife has some Beethoven sites she wants to see in Vienna. I hear Prague is pretty cool and I saw a cool "Spy Museum" there. Prague is supposed to have some of the best Pilsner beer in Europe from what I've read and the city escaped much of the bombing in WW2, so a very beautiful place.

I want to take a Segway tour of Prague and Vienna. We did it in Salzburg and had a blast.

Watching CFB in Vienna will be great unless it's a night game....then it will be in the wee hours.

Prater amusement park (Fun and hot girls)
7 Stern Brau (Beer and awesome wiener schnitzel)
Stephansplatz (Touristy and educational)
Tiergarten Schönbrunn (Really cool zoo)
The Gloriette (Very touristy but peaceful)
Albertina Museum (Actually really nice)


I loved Vienna, but you should probably polish up your German if you can, because they're not particularly friendly if you can only speak English, even though they can all speak English

this is too far to go over 2 weeks. Cut out a city, then you cand do 4 days in each city with a travel day each.

And honestly try a smaller city in CZ. Cesky Krumlov was awesome, so much fun.

Any suggestions for a city that could be fit in?
We will go from Amsterdam to Prague to Vienna to Berlin then back to Amsterdam

In Copenhagen, you have to rent a bike and ride around like the locals to fully appreciate the city. It's like riding in amsterdam but the Dane's follow the rules and stop at stop signs and hand signal whereas in Amsterdam its a free-for-all sometimes. So its easier for a novice rider in Copenhagen. You'll want to explore the main, old town part of the city but make sure to venture out of the core. Christianshavn is a cool area just south of the Old Town area.

Assistens Cemetery is where Hand Christain Anderson and Kierkegaard are buried. Besides that it is a beautiful, heavily treed cemetery that locals use as a sort of park.

Amager Beach is a nice beach in the part of town called Amager. We usually stay in Amager when we go to Copenhagen. The beach generally has quite a few exposed, bodacious Danish breasts. On bicycle it is a nice 20 minute ride. There is also a Metro train that goes out there.

Frederiksberg Garden is an amazing park in the north part of the city with a palace overlooking the grounds. The Zoo is next door but Ive never been to that. It is an easy bike ride except there is a giant hill you have to go up to get to the park entrance.

If you are at all adventurous, you should check out Christiania. It is a commune on an old military base in the middle of Copenhagen. They have a street market selling hippie stuff and you used to be able to buy hash and weed there. Last time we were there the government had cracked down on that. There are also some very good restaurants there. I have eaten Here and it is very good and a sort of upscale setting. Also, there is a vegetarian buffet place called Morgenstedet. It is definitely a hippie hangout but fun to eat there and people watch. Then there is a beer garden at the back end of Christiana against a bluff. Cool to hang for a beer here. Also, there is a small lake where people have built houses. Some houses are not much more than cardboard boxes and then next door will be a super nice house. Everyone pays the same amount of money for a plot of land and then you build what you want. There is a dirt trail around the lake that is a nice 30-40 minute walk.

If you like modern art at all, The Louisnana Museum of Modern Art is one of the best in the world. It is about a 20 minute train ride to the little town it is in. You then have a 15 minute walk down a little road to the museum. There is an outdoor cafe there that sits on a cliff overlooking the Baltic Sea.

I can offer some more suggestions if you want.

Bergen, Norway is beautiful. Do the "Norway in a Nutshell" tour that takes you by boat through a fjord. Then you get on a narrow gage train and climb up the mountain out of the fjord. I wouldn't spens more than 2 days in Bergen. If you can spend a day in Oslo, check out Vigeland Park which is a sculpture garden and park. I think it is free.
