Sabine Lake reports/tips???

Want to fish sabine lake as i will be out that way for a few weeks. I will be on the north side of the lake. I am assuming its brackish water up that way. Do people still catch reds and trout up that way? Or is it more freshwater with bass and such? I will be fishing out of my yak, so please give some advice on what I should be fishing with as far as tackle goes.

i've never fished it but there's a decent article in LA Sportsman this month about Sabine, even had some "hot spots" circled in detail for wade fishing
