I believe that the Republican Party has allowed these groups of extremist to have too much of a voice and because of that, the platform of the Republican Party has shifted too far to the right in my opinion. For example, the drastic cuts on needed federal funding that these groups of Republican extremists support would leave society weak and crippled. Secondly, their far right stance on immigration is not only ignorant, but it is cruel. After all our country is a nation of immigrants and should welcome immigrants from every country. My father was an immigrant from Cuba and came to America in 1959 because of the freedom that this nation offers. This freedom should be available to each and every individual that wants to come work hard and pursue his or her goals in America. Finally, I believe the Republican Party has not done enough to put a stop to the hatred and cruel words and actions of the far right extremist. The Republican Party consistently says they are trying to appeal to minorities, but this will never happen when we allow members of party to say cruel and ignorant things about Women, African Americans, Hispanics, and other minorities in our country. I simply cannot be apart of organization that have members who support these far right extremist views, much less be the Chairman of the organization

Will this help the dems get the black vote in November?

The comment section is telling.

Kate Cochran made a comment. Basically agrees.

It's the chairman of Mississippi College Republicans. Not the chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party.

Jeez, darkhorse, kind of an important fact to leave out, don't you think ?

Under the circumstances, no. Not really that important to the over all story.

Since when were facts relative to an election or a debate board, NH...when one is fighting against *extremists*? "You can keep your doctor".

BTW...at least he's honest. Better than Thad.

A State Chairman of either the Democratic or Republican party in any state resigning his position and joining the other party would be a huge news story.

Note that he has announced he will be writing a book about his switch to the Dems.

There's always a book ...

It's the Chairman of the damned CRs. When will you people cut out these simplistic attempts at misinformation. I know that's how you get your news, but it's not for the rest of us.

ETA: Didn't realize you were a child.

Yeah yeah... whatever.

Either read the story or dont. Either read Thad's daughter's comments or dont.

Your choice and remember, whatever you decide.... I'm ok with.

"I'm sure this will be an instant best seller."

"of course you're writing a book. please excuse us while no one is shocked."

"so like all great political moves, it was about a book deal."

Even though this clown was a rinky-dink college chairman of a MS school,it speaks volumes about the direction this country is headed.

Too many people think they are 'entitled' to something, anything from the government, not realizing that the government is funded by the tax payer.

If and when there is a true SHTF in this country, its gonna be a real tough go for many, many people in this country.

It saddens me to no end to say this but I give this country about 20-30 more good years.

After that, its gonna be the start of this country being SLOWLY split up into several states like the Balkans of southern Europe.

And it won't be pretty.
