Does he have a point?

Clearly the Cubs have always been bad for many, many, reasons.

But does the schedule have any impact on player fatigue?

I was reading this earlier. Not sure I agree with it though. It doesn't make much sense to me

I'm with you, but why the hell not.

Sure, it can be. But it could also be because the talent wasn't there.

I'll go with the lack of talent. Or did they only play night games in 2008 when they won more games than anyone?

Management is making the push.

Seems like a legit issue to me. It may be a bit extreme to blame all their issues on it though.

yea city council gave them a couple more, along with 3pm games on fridays. But i'm not so sure the allowed night games will be used because it's for night events, so they could not use those and have a concert instead at wrigley which for city council purposes would count as one of the extra night games.

I think the 3pm baseball games on friday will help with so many thrusdays being getaway day, it does allow a little more time to get settled. But I dig day games and really don't like the mentality of blaming losing on time of day.

They are allowed 38 night games this year.. previously the number was 18.

no. From 30 to 46.

and i think the number is closer to 40 with 6 being floating where it could only be a night game if espn or fox asked for it, or could be used for an extra concert.

They have 38 scheduled this year.

well that deal got modified in December by the city council due to some fluff about having to get the extra games approved. So the number may have been reduced in order to not have to get approval for extra night games or events. I didn't think it substantially altered the number of games but maybe it did.

I went to a weekday game at Wrigley a few years ago and it was awesome. I hope they continue to have them

Or when they won the division in 2003 and 2007? I think there's a point about the day games, but it's #78 on the list of why the Cubs have been so bad for a century.

Agreed. I'm sure it's a bit harder, but it's not 'the' problem.

Also, i'd much rather be playing in the day in april and early may than the evening in chicago. If night games are a problem, then so is temperature.

Nothing to worry about. Too much congestion/bar traffic in that area to eliminate day games.
