Soccer players get signed all the time before they turn 18. Why is this any different?

EU laws require you to be an EU citizen to sign with their youth teams, or some BS. Once you turn 18 that doesn't matter anymore. Guys like Hyndman and Pulisic managed to get European passports through their grandparents.

FIFA rules don't allow for clubs to sign players from foreign countries before they are 18. Because of the way the EU is setup players from member countries can move to clubs inside of the zone before then.
