Just heard SEC Networks Joe Tesatore/sp?/ on XM91 say that one of of biggest things coming out of the new SEC Network will be Marcus Spears. He said he has been blown away by his work ethic and knowledge. I think he said he would he as big or good as any of the other ICONs at ESPN. Very high praise from Joe and if Marcus could become know as an LSU guy instead of a Saban guy it will be great for the Tigers.

I guess this is recruiting related...

Still I'm hopeful to have an ex LSU athlete as a mainstay in college sports commentary.

I talked to him for a while at an event here in St. Louis a few weeks ago. He thinks it's going to be Harris. He's also excited about fournette. And said he won't be afraid to call out finebaum on his bullshite.

He will be when it's part of the narrative. He won't last long if he doesn't walk the line.

He was on AFR a week or so ago. He spoke well and sounded like a pretty knowledgeable sports fan.

Hey, you take advantage of any possible thing you can--who knows a recruit, high school coach, or relative of a recruit might hear it, and get more interested in LSU because of an ex-Tiger doing football commentary. Stranger things have happened.

I had English class with him at LSU. On days we turned in papers, he would wear a suit and be the first to volunteer to read his from the podium. Great Guy with a great personality.

If he can support LSU in football half as much as Shaq does during basketball season then LSU will get plenty of attention. LSU's perception hasn't been very good after losing three straight to Bama.

Spears and Clayton are two of the biggest LSU recruits LSU has ever gotten. Classy guys that were Top 5 talent too, from right in BR. In the past those guys went elsewhere. Now, we expect the Eric Reid's to come to LSU.

I own my home, but I would mortgage it again to see the cage drop on these two.

That's awesome. Wish all players did that.
