Oakland leads MLB in runs, ranks 12th in hits, 4th in home runs, 13th in average, 5th in OPS, 2nd in ERA, 5th in quality starts, and 1st in batting average against....

They also have the best record in MLB... Yet many casual (even hardcore MLB) fans can't name 6 players on the team....

Does this team win the west (5.5 game lead over Angels) and make it to WS?

You answered your own question

Just because casual people can't name a player doesn't mean they aren't legit

They always seem to have issues in the playoffs though. Fun team to watch when I get the chance.

Not really we've seen teams have a great first half only to fade at the break

Would the MLB allow an A's - Brewers World Series?

They said somewhere on TV this weekend that the A's infield has the lowest BA in the majors.

Damn straight they are and they will add some before all is said and done. This team plays great baseball and they are a cohesive unit. hearing we might even bring Chubby Checker (B. Colon) back to shore up the starting lineup.
You heard it here first A's win WS this year. would love to beat the Giants to do it. it would go a long way towards shutting off some of the bandwagon that got so big with SF recent success.

An A's - Dodgers world series would be interesting.

We're more than halfway through the year and you are asking if the team with the best record in all of baseball is legit?

Last year at this point Pittsburgh had the best record... year before Texas.... year before Philadelphia, year before Yankees and Texas, year before Dodgers....

Dodgers won division by 3 games
Yankees won wildcard, Texas won division by 9
Philadelphia on division by 13 games
Texas won the wild card
Pittsburgh won the wild card

0 world series titles

i have a bet with a buddy that the Stros will win the series before the A's get another. So with that in mind, i hope not
