Trying to find someone familiar with the Variax and PODxt Live combo. My setup is acting a bit strange (and the software may need to be updated. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your expert opinion.

BTW...Variax is a guitar and PODX is the pedal the guitar plays through. I play it through a Marshall 100W head over a Marshall 4x12" 1/2 stack...how real is that?

Multi effects pedals have a shite ton of parts in them and with that comes a shite ton of problems. These problems are even greater in something like a variax with all of its electric shite in that guitar. Honestly i dont like them, but to each its own. Also, buy individual pedals and make your own pedal board for a better sound a greater control over that sound.

I'd bring it to someone who knows how to take it apart and check on it.

ETA:
WHat model variax do you have?

I have a 700 and 500.
I think I'll bring it to Melvin at C & M and see what he can do with it. I know there are firmware updates; I just don't know how to do it.

a 100w solid state amp wouldn't make much sense with a 412 stack.

It's a tube (circa 1978).

I bought it in 1980 at a pawn shop in New Orleans. It was almost new and that's the way it was configured. I quit playing gigs shortly after getting it and didn't need to beef it up.

BTW...Paid $300.00 for it and picked up a Pre-CBS Fender Deluxe Reverb at the same time for $250.00; they're worth about $5G today. The internet has sure killed pawn shop deals!

well depends, I was in high school and all could afford was the Marshall MG100HDfx. I played it at church and loved it.

Wayne Static singer/guitarist for Static-X uses it on tour.

About six years ago I sold it though for a Mesa Rectoverb :)

I have a few amps and like them all, but my Mesa really outshines them all...it's as versatile as an amp can be.
