We are playing in a baseball tourney there. What is a nice hotel close to the park?

Go stay somewhere in Downtown New Orleans. It is not that far of a drive. Also, make sure you are strapped if going to Bourbon street given the recent events.

You can stay at any of the hotels near the airport, or stay in Elmwood. Those are the closest places. You can also stay in downtown and use the Earhart Expressway getting to and from.

If the tournament is this weekend, do not stay downtown!

Yes. There is a hampton inn, a courtyard by marriot, and a few other places there. There is also a good amount of chain restaurants and a few solid burger places around there to eat. It's a very safe area.

Essence Fest weekend.....stay away from downtown.
The ball park is by the lower school I believe which is about half a mile from the High School but still on Jefferson Highway.
