50 for a ticket? I'm sorry but that is worst than taf fees.

Some have mentioned the price as being high and that the Alumni have this every year for away games. This is sponsored by LSU Houston Alumni. Price includes ENTERTAINMENT including the LSU Golden Band, Golden Girls, Texans cheerleaders, A LIVE band that you'd pay $40+ to see at any venue. AIR CONDITIONING and clean bathrooms. FOOD! FULL BARs serving wine and liquor with two beer gardens! A second LINE party that'll walk the party to NRG Stadium. unfortunately the City of Houston is limiting the hours of tailgating to everyone. If you want the most allowable time to tailgate you're better off partying WITH LSU Houston!

Not sure. This is first time LSU Houston has had the opportunity to have a tailgate. I'd like to know what sucked at the other tailgates so we don't make the same mistake.

I also have the inside on JJ Watts tailgate. The complimentary drinks are going to be limited to approximately 2 drinks per hour. Which means you'll get only 2 drinks.

What typically sucks about these types of things is the promise of open bar and it taking 30/45 minutes to get a drink and outrageous bathroom lines.

It's not going to be an open bar. Cash bar for this one. And it's 75 at the door if you don't buy in advance BUT the A/C alone may be worth it

That will suck....but it won't happen! The person in charge of those issues is an LSU grad! He works for the company that manages the facility. He understands how this works. Also, the other "Official" tailgates were at BARS! This is a 100K sq ft facility that hosts the Houston Rodeo and Houston Boat show. The largest shows of their kind in the US. This facility should be able to host a little ole tailgate!

LSU Houston hosts events all the time that have an element of an open bar. It is absolutely impossible to do when Aramark handles the liquor. But I know the prices have been negotiated and the beverages will lower than anywhere else. Domestic beer's inside the stadium are $8.50. They are $5 at the tailgate. The food portions are going to be plenty....

We are working with several bands right now and do not have a contract signed. If you have a suggestion we are happy to reach out and see what they can do. The bands we are negotiating with have played at the House of Blues and Jazz Fest. They know how to have a good time and we are looking for an hour to hour and a half set.

Glad to the the Houston Alumni Association is taking this tailgate seriously and taking input to make it better. The fact it is at Reliant Center, I understand the handcuffing the facility and Aramark can put on the event.

Thanks. This is great news. Not for me as I have other plans, but my parents are going and they won't mind the cost in order to get a meal, a/c, and a 10 minute walk to the stadium.

This is great for 65+ year old alumni that are looking for no hassle...other than dealing with traffic after we destroy Wisc!

It's closer than a 10 minute walk even for 65+ age group. It's across the street! If they have handicap tags it'll be a 10 min walk from their parking spot to the Center. And then a 5 minute walk from stadium to their car after the game! We are in the E hall! Website shows where that is. It is the closest hall to the stadium! Less than a 2 minute walk to get in the stadium.

I have made that walk with my parents. It's about 10 for them. 5 for us. What they liked was the familiarity of the area. They know where to park and layout of Reliant.

Eta: sounded like a dick post. It wasn't. Appreciate the input. But they love football. Saints season tix, LSU season tix and get to Relaint once a year. They know their limitations.
