Any ideas? Is it better to wait on those coming out later - say in late July or August?

Also, any good websites or podcasts or t.v. shows?

Thanks.

I would just get your info from the internet. No reason to get a magazine anymore.

trom83,

You sir, are incorrect. I won last year. I use fantasy football toolbox, listen to the espn podcasts periodically, and buy one magazine per year, oh and I occasionally read the USA Today football preview to see what teams are putting together good OL's and D's. The best advice I got last year was from someone on this board who said that Julius Thomas was the TE to get. Apparently, it wasn't you, but thanks for your astute observation and wit.

Fantasy advice is like porn, if you're using a magazine you're doing it wrong. Regardless it'll get the job done but wont open your mind to a bigger world.

Don't use magazines anymore but I used Fantasy Football Index. It's pretty detailed but will be outdated by preseason. It's the best fantasy magazine out there in my opinion. You can find it at B&N or any newspaper stand.

tzimme4,

Thanks. Any podcasts, shows, or sites.

I use FFtoolbox and an occasional espn podcast. Just discovered rotoworld.

Thanks.

I usually get one: Fantasy Index.. I think I have bought one since the late 90s. LINK

Also, the best thing you can purchase is this:

Draft Buddy

Rotoworld/fftoolbox are really all you need.

Also, reddit.com has some good stuff too.

i don't know.

i use to read profootball weekly's preseason stuff.

they had an issue just for fantasy football but i liked their season preview better.

read what websites you can and listen to some pod casts if you like that kind of stuff but I've found it to be more fun by just going on your own instincts.

frick it.

its supposed to be for fun.

it use to be real serious in my main league when we were in our early-to-mid 20's.

now... we can't even do a live draft because everyone has so many different things going.

LooseCannon,

Yeah, we know how that busy life goes. We all have toddlers at home, but this is a dynasty league and it makes it seem more important. When I had three leagues I actually did less thinking about my team; now, I have to have the right guy on my roster. Need a RB and backup TE. I have a great team, but in our five years of existence, a different team has won each year! Crazy.

Thanks.

if im traveling over the summer, i'll usually stop by a gift shop in an airport and pick one up just for the hell of it/to read on the plane. good additional tool to have by your side at draft time.

Magazines come out well before pre season starts, and there is always a lot of change during that time. Spend the money on a 1 week internet menbership or free site right around the time of your draft

I like ESPN. Get it each June as a way to kick start pre season prep, nothing more.

I hear you.

I usually just look at profootball reference a lot and crunch numbers.

a few years ago I bought Phil Steele's season preview & fantasy guide. It wasn't as much as his college preview but we're only talking a few bucks here.

Erik Kuselias had some nice tidbits in there. I don't think you can find those previews on newsstands anymore though. But you can go to his site and download his preview though I think. I remember it being jam packed with information. I wasn't about to read all of it though.

I like to get the daily email updates from footballguys in the offseason, sort of helps you get a pulse on the league as a whole

I don't understand why anyone would rely on a magazine...how are you going to account for position battles, injuries, and changes that happen daily?
