He has 3 titles, 11 years with Miami (Tied with Zo and DWade for most in franchise history), he is the franchise leader in career rebounds, he's also the first undrafted player to ever lead a franchise in career rebounds. Udonis has been consistent and a team player since day 1. I'm all for having a #40 hanging in American Airlines Arena.

Honored in a Miami Heat HOF or Ring of Honor? Yes.

No, but Miami loves him. Dwade is number 1, but haslem is beloved here as well.

Probably not. But it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

I'm not one of those sticklers when it comes to stuff like this. He's obviously not deserving solely based on his play, but I do think that how beloved he is to that city and team, it does make sense.

He went to UF, but your overriding point, he absolutely loves Miami. He turned down a deal worth $10mil more to sign with Miami last contract.

He's been about as loyal as it gets. He loves the city, the city loves him. I don't think his number will be retired, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it eventually happens.

Actually I do think it is a possibility. Dude lives and bleeds Miami. Total loyalty, has everyone's back and everything you could want.

That's my overriding point, he'll be tied with DWade only as the longest tenured Heat and for most of his career he was the model of consistency. The franchise leader in boards doesn't hurt either.

I don't think he should have his number retired, but if he does, I would still be more than ok with it. That dude is a team player.

He will easily be missed when he hangs it up.

Dude's the epitome of leadership.
