Wouldn't surprise me if Barbour & Co. were sending threats his way.

I don't support what he did, but I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of a powerful lobbyist like Barbour who has no moral compass at all and will do anything to keep hold on his power and influence

Mississippi should just be forced to secede at this point. And I'm originally from there.

Good. We do not need scum like that around.

Wish more idiots that stoop to that level would eat a bullet.

Wouldn't hurt if the morons who created the fliers on behalf of Cochran did the same.

What? That the vice chairman of the mississippi tea party committed suicide amid allegations of scandal and an election fight? That's not news at all.

Yeah, if Hillary failing to protect U.S. ambassadors isn't news, then I suppose this isn't news.

Come on, man. Does that really make any sense to you? McDaniel lost and Mayfield was already facing prison.

On a scale of likelihood, your mind wonders to Barbour threatening him so he commits suicide...when the reality is that he committed a crime, was about to lose his license to practice law and was about to lose his political standing in the MS Tea Party.

I think you need to step back from the political table for a little while. You are clearly not thinking logically.

I wonder if this will have any impact on McDaniel's decision. I'm notably not in the McDaniel camp, but my first instinct would be that reconciliation is badly needed in the state

Not to flame, but there is a lot of that on the Tea Party side. The establishment is guilty in this war too, but the Tea Party is just so much more emotionally invested. Look at how people talk on this site and others.

I understand where they're coming from, some of these issues are really important, but I do worry about stuff like this fueling tragedy.

Are you aware of the various far reaching stories the MSM doesn't consider worthy of reporting? Benghazi, IRS targeting, Fast & Furious....

The Tea Party is very emotionally invested. It would be good for some of them to get outside and take a walk. Play with their kids more.

Even if the whole American government comes tumbling down, there's more important stuff.
