The law allows commercial film theaters to obtain a liquor permit as long as the alcohol sales are separated physically from other concessions. People under 18 must also be banned from entering the area where alcohol is sold. The state commissioner of alcohol and tobacco control currently has discretion to issue alcohol permits to movie theaters. The law sets up a process by which any theater could apply for a permit and receive it upon meeting those requirements rather than be subject to the whim of the commissioner. Theaters would also be required to get approval from their local government to sell alcohol.

Cool. I like Movie Taverns.

Beer and a burger while you watch.

can we also pack our piece? If so, would be fun times at the Saturday John Wayne feature.

Was there a law that originally made this illegal?

What will the ramifications be if Bubba comes out of the movie after 2,3 beers, runs over little Johnny in the parking lot either maiming or killing him? Is the guy that sold the beer in the theater the one to get sued like a bartender? How does the theater guy keep up with how much one consumes during the movie?

Seems to be a lot of legal issues here in a bad case scenario were to happen.

Bubba usually can't afford these types of places

Lol anyone who thinks this will turn movie theaters rowdy. Nice to see LA behind the times.

I doubt people will get plastered.

The beers will probably be $17/per.

I agree Scoop but I'm coming at this from the point of alcohol level according to law that gets a lot of people in trouble knowing they aren't really drunk.

There was a theater in Daytona like this for a while. You could get food and had a table and beverage. It did not stay open for long though. Did not know the reasons for closing. It was purely adults to enter.

add on....And this was before lowering of drunk laws and percentage of blood alcohol.

17 is a bit much but the demographics of these places are not white trash and hood rats.

They build these things in affluent areas.

I'm guessing the same thing that would happen if Bubba was coming out of Hooters

in Louisiana we have protections for those who serve alcohol, sir. it would be all on the driver (if he's 21+)

You guys are acting like I'm the second coming of Carrie Nation or something. I've probably drank more beer in my lifetime than you have. Funny how no one has answered the questions I've asked. Only makes me believe you have no clue as to the answers.
