Short version:

Found several swarmers in the house about two weeks ago.

Found area where we suspect they are entering the house. Had it treated by company that has the termite bond.

Have found some damage, don't know the extent as of yet.

Found 50+ or so, more dead swarmers in the past couple days.

Couple questions:

How to rid house of termites completely?
How to be sure that they are all dead?

Any info would be helpful.

Pest control should be able to take care of them. Bad news is I think you have to disclose termite damage when you sell your house

You had that area treated, or the whole perimeter?

Basically, they need moisture to survive, or they die. That's why they go back to the ground. If they a water source, like a wet spot or something, they won't go back into the ground and will survive.

Ugh, I thought it was currently termite swarming season. They're everywhere right now.
Now if you pull apart a wall and find them digging in wood.......

Take a walk around your house. Make sure you can see the line between the slab and your brick or siding. They make little dirt dobber tunnels to get in. Make sure you don't have any tunnels and none of your flowerbeds cross over that line.

I found a dead beetle yesterday in hobby lobby. A nice big one. I'm going to buy a little miniature doll picnic table and glue him to it, sitting down.

so I'm currently sitting in my gf's parent's house and they have a pretty bad infestation right now. They got the inspection and exterminator here over a month ago and he set out traps for these bastards, but they just swarmed pretty badly in the house. Personally (and I know nothing about these termites) I feel after a month they should be gone...can anyone with experience confirm that it takes a month or longer to completely exterminate an infection??? It's pretty bad, and these suckers are serious from what little I've read online...they need to get rid of them.

My brother is a regional manager for a termite company. If you want to post your email, I'll give you his contact info.

Not trying to sell. Just that I don't know much about termites and he does.
